For deletion requests please send the following email (copy and paste) to the participant, with the INF-Team in BCC (trr265-inf@groups.tu-dresden.de). In this email, participants are asked to fill out a short questionnaire in order to determine which personal data may be kept:

Sie haben uns eine Anfrage zur Löschung Ihrer personenbezogenen Daten gesendet. Die Datenerhebung im Rahmen der ReCoDe-Studie ist relativ komplex und wir möchten Ihre Anfrage explizit nach Ihren Vorstellungen ausführen. Damit wir genauer eingrenzen können, welche Daten gelöscht werden sollen, benötigen wir einige wenige Informationen im nachfolgenden Fragebogen von Ihnen (Ausfülldauer ca. 2 Minuten). Wir möchten Sie bitten, den Fragebogen innerhalb 1 Woche auszufüllen. Nach Absenden dieses Fragebogens werden Ihre Wünsche direkt umgesetzt.

Staff members' responsibilities end here. The INF team gets an alert when the questionnaire is filled out. Based on the answers, the INF team acts out the participants' wishes:

1. PAMS: anonymise
2. ORSEE: delete participant (if participant does not agree to be contacted for other projects)
3. Email Biodatenbank Mannheim (Fr. Witt) for blood sample destruction (if participant does not agree that blood sample may be used further) and document this destruction in REDCap
4. REDCap deletion questionnaire: delete email-adress and affirm deletion

Please note: If participant does not answer within the 1 week-deadline, the INF-Team performs all of the points above.

Participants who wish to be removed from the database are removed from the ORSEE and anonymized in PAMS. Since the only personal identifier used across all INF-systems is the participant ID generated in PAMS, the experimental data is also effectively anonymized once the PAMS entry is anonymized. This procedure has been approved by the data protection officers of the project.
