Neurocloud

Connecting the Neurocloud as a network drive

It is possible to connect the Neurocloud as a normal network storage using the WebDAV protocol. In contrast to Nextcloud's Desktop Client, this method requires network connectivity to work. Since you work directly on the file, there is no synchronization process involved and this method is less prone to accidentally deleting this.

The following instructions are made for MS Windows. However, it is also possible to use this method with Linux or Mac OS. In the latter cases, please consult the official documentation of Nextcloud.

In order to connect the Neurocloud in Windows, please follow these steps:

1. Generating the app password

Go to the Security option inside of your Personal Settings and generate the app password to use for the connection as shown in this picture:

Copy both the Login and the Password shown. Note that this password can't be displayed again after closing the window. You can generate as many as you want though.

2. Connecting drive

Open the file manager:

Right-click on your PC and select the option to add a network drive:

Once you are asked to type in the network address, use the following:

https://neurocloud.zih.tu-dresden.de/remote.php/dav/files/##YOUR_LOGIN##

Relace ##YOUR_LOGIN## with the Login you copied when generating the app password.

When asked for the Password. Enter the password generated at step 1.

You can give the drive any name you want. We recommend just Neurocloud.

If everything went well, you'll see the Neurocloud as a new folder in the file manager:
